Description
Repertoire:
The “Vieuxtemps” Guarneri, crafted by the legendary Giuseppe Guarneri in 1741, remains one of the final and most significant masterpieces of his career. Named after the 19th-century French virtuoso Henri Vieuxtemps, the instrument has been the choice of modern masters such as Yehudi Menuhin, Itzhak Perlman, and Pinchas Zukerman. Often referred to as the “Mona Lisa” of violins for its impeccable condition and profound tonal depth, it represents the absolute pinnacle of Del Gesù’s golden period.
This faithful recreation is an excellent choice for virtuoso-level performance. The slightly shorter body length and neck design facilitate effortless shifting and agility in the higher registers. With its high arching and focused body pattern, the expansive soundbox delivers a refined, concert-caliber tone without compromise. This is a meticulously accurate copy of one of history’s most famous instruments.
Crafted with aged Italian spruce and European maple, this model features a tone-oriented oil varnish that enhances its aesthetic and acoustic beauty. It offers exceptional value, providing tonewood quality and playability on par with instruments at much higher price points. The vintage-vibe workmanship results in a warm, sweet, yet highly projective voice with immense clarity and volume. A true virtuoso-grade violin, it delivers “fast” playability paired with deep, bold projection.
Experience a deep, warm, and sonorous tone with immense depth and rich ringing in the mid-range. The projection is strong and clearly defined, supported by a focused, brilliant E-string with superb sustain. As evidenced in the audio clip, the instrument possesses a commanding sound with fast response—the perfect choice for players seeking an authentic, vintage “Guarneri” character that meets the highest performance demands.
*Due to the scarcity of select tonewood, only a limited number of Master Builds featuring Italian spruce are available annually.
