Tonewood choice:

Well aged ( 30 yrs plus ) Italian spruce or swiss spruce, selected Bosnian maple with the flame pattern that matches the original: it can either be maker’s choice for matching density of top and back, or buyer’s choice if they have a specific idea of how the desired wood grain/flame pattern. Ex: a Cannone del Gesu with ascending flame pattern, buyt your choice of wider or narrower flame width.

Varnish:

Oil varnish with marching antique appearance ( or pristine ) based on the specific strad or del Gesu being copied after. We suggests some room for maker’s own interpretation since no two violins shall look exactly identical, also based on each maker’s artistic taste, please refer to the order archive.

Ordering/lead time:

Send us a message through the contact page, for the current quote and lead time, based on the maker’s schedule: usually 4-6 months depending on the oil varnish drying time. Once the making started, we will update you with progress pics along each step of the way.  Audio/video will also be provided after the violin is completed, as our normal listing.
