How Do I Order a Custom Violin?
Most of our new instruments are built as custom orders. Most custom commissions begin at the Private Stock or Award-Winning Luthier level, while selected Master Build instruments may also be available depending on the specifications.
Getting Started
To begin, simply contact us and let us know what level of instrument you’re looking for, along with your preferred violin model and visual style. We also encourage you to browse our existing instruments for inspiration, as they provide an excellent reference for varnish, antiquing, and overall appearance.
Deposit & Timeline
Once the specifications have been finalized, we’ll confirm the final specifications, pricing, and estimated completion time. A 30% deposit is required before work begins, with the remaining balance due upon completion, prior to shipment.
Most custom orders are completed within approximately 4–6 months, depending on the varnish drying time and our current production schedule.
During the Build
Throughout the making process, we’ll keep you updated on your instrument’s progress. Whether you’re located in the United States or overseas, we’ll guide you through every step of the custom ordering experience.
Custom Order Policy
Because every custom violin is built specifically for its owner, custom orders are non-returnable and non-refundable once production has begun.
