Award winning violin by our top luthier Wayne Zhao, winning the silver medal overall and silver medal in workmanship and varnish in 2023 VMAAI violin making competition. A Guarneri del Gesu model based on 1741 “Vieuxtemps” pattern, featuring Italian spruce and Bosnian maple that have been naturally dried 30-40 yrs. Maker’s own f hole and arching design for optimistic volume and projection, even for a relatively smaller del Gesu pattern that delivers extremely easy playability. Pure soloist tone that projects with power and depth in distance, while having a warm, complex, sustained ringing tone at ear. A robust, big sounding violin that has both the volume and richness for many possibilities in tonal character. Moderately antiqued varnish that brings out the vintage vibe as an 300 yrs old violin, with the workmanship can be only seen from violins cost at least twice more.
